I was also wondering, do you know shows like Strike Witches? Since that appears to be inspired by shmups.

Astebreed looks awesome! We aren't too familiar with Strike Withes, but the characters seem cool. 
I was expecting that. Strike Witches is known for having lots of fanservice (panty shots particularly) and contributing to shmups.
I actually have a personal side project that's like Strike Witches, except it adds doujins shumps, too.
